National Climate Week is being celebrated around the country this week from the 22nd to the 29th of September, 2017 as declared by Cabinet.

The overall objective of the week is to raise awareness and inspire action on climate change by encouraging citizens of all ages to work together through a series of events during the week.

The National Climate Change Week will provide education about global climate action which is led by our Honourable Prime Minister in his role as President of COP 23 in Bonn, Germany from November 2017 until December 2018.

Every citizen of this town is requested to support all climate related actions in combating climate change which has not only affected our country but our region and the global community.  This is evident through the series of natural disasters, sea level rise, food security and extreme weather patterns.

Be responsible for your actions, plant trees to keep our environment cool, do not burn refuse or vegetation and more so support Nadi Town Council to keep our environment free of litter , particularly plastic products and waste materials.  Do not dump your refuse indiscriminately along the beaches, in the river or in drains.
